Aku Perempuan - Make Over Edition

It was 06:20pm and Benten was super late for the shooting in Global TV.

Benten was invited by our dearly friend Dado and the three Angels; Nadya Mulya, Catherine Wilson and Aline Tumbuan for their show called “Aku Perempuan” in Make Over edition. The show was aired on Tuesday 4th March 2008 @ 1pm

Benten reached by 07:14pm and rushed in to the studio and was quickly sat in the make up room and get a touch, Benten looked beautiful and ready for the shoot!

She was pretty nervous, but hey… Make Over is always FUN and Challenging! Benten loves to share the idea on how to improve your looks or how to boost more self confidence of all her babes.

The girl Benten will be working with called Imel, she is such a beautiful babe with nice personality. Imel would like to give a surprise for her husband’s birthday dinner. How sweet…

First of all we applied some make up on her, smokey eyes always looks nice for evening dinner, Imel’s short hair was styled lightly outwards. We applied shades of glitters on her shoulder and arms so it looked slender and shines.

Imel’s figure was tall and lean for a one child mother, she looked like a person whom likes to exercise and watch her diet.

Last, Benten gave her “Soleil Yellow” something unique with strong colors (blue and yellow). Soleil was a simple cocktail dress that plays with colors and give a sexy impressions yet still elegant. All the babes love it and Imel looked stunning and ready for dinner that night.

Benten was so happy to think about today… Another beautiful babe came along with Benten.

Benten on Oriflame Gala Dinner

On 25th February 2008, Benten was invited to show twelve "Red Carpet" style from the collections.
To give enchantment to hundred of audiences that attend the dinner at Shangri-La Hotel, Benten came with colors, flows, and stunning gowns on the first session.

The lightning was glamorous, the stage was spectacular and the music was pounding loud giving an exquisite impression during the show.

Six beautiful models from Glam Management walking tall and graceful on the catwalk. Benten showed out black and purple collections on the second session leaving the audiences with astonishment.

Hi Friends,
Benten last fashion show was reported in GlobalTV the other day for a talkshow called "Aku perempuan" and the producer told us that it'll be aired today (Feb 12th,2008) @ 12pm...

There goes, we told our friends to watch....

Then, the producer called us up again to tell that the airing time is at 1pm..oh my god...

There goes, we told our friends about the schedule revision...

Then, on D-day the producer called us up again to tell that she's made mistake in airing the program..so they aired the other program instead of BENTEN today...UNBELIEVABLE!! we received lots of call from our friends and customer saying "Whereeeee isssss BENTENNNNN????"

There goes...the unbelivable GlobalTV
anyway, the producer apologized to us and say...it'll be airing tomorrow...

*sigh*

A good month of January ...

As for this month, January 2008..Benten is optimistic for more prosperity for this year. With so much hard works, we finally makes it for:

Our Underwater photos sets up a trend...

We're surprised!

Just last year, we decided to make an uniques theme for our photo sesions..with a concept of UNDERWATER to enhance the beauty of our dresses which is flowy and weightless..and Benten as a GODDESS..

Apparently, it sets up a TREND...

Since it's appearance in JakTV, lots of people start taking photo underwater using our dresses. One of professional photographers uses our dresses for his project for underwater photography album colaborating with Ms. Nadine Chandrawinata...we heard the photos featured in national geographics...
Some of our customers took underwater photos for their pre-weds photo taking...
Our friend from globalTV told us that for the last birthday, they use the concept of underwater with dresses (in aquarium) and the theme was "Goddess"..can u believe it? it's sooooo Benten....dont you think?

Well, like the advertisement of "A-mild" recently......OTHER CAN ONLY FOLLOWS...

A Glorious show for Christmas

Boys and Girls,

As to celebrate this year Christmas, we decided to throw a private party wine & dine..
Close friends...
Business and media partners...
Delicious foods...
Good wines...
And chillin music...
Equal to Perfect party!

So, even the concept of the fashion show is fun...dance and move. Check out the cool dance of one our model during the practices :) *Lol*

As you might have realises, we love to have the models hair to be in "cleopatra" style so, the solution is = wig! and apparently peoples loves the idea, well benten are always BENTEN (means "different" in sunda language)


The Acoustic music band were playing good music, followed by kid's choir dressing in whites and wearing santa head. As to add abit of spice to the dinner, 'four-season' singers sang some songs for us.

As for us, after the show were done...we're too busy with the backstage thingy and mingle with our guests and of course to HAVE OUR DINNER. we didnt even have the time to eat before the show and once the show was over....our tummy rumble! lol

Well, now it's time to loosen up! and enjoy the holiday..

After 2 days of staying home watching Asian Idols and their performances, finally a star is born...

a big applause for Hadi Mirza from Singapore

They said it was a close call of votes between them and to be honest i have Mike Mohede in mind as the first asian idol winner. not because he's indonesian, but i he trully has the quality voice!!

I actually think that Abhijeet might win since he comes from India (note: India has the most population in the world to vote for him) hahaha no offence..maybe majority dont have handphones? or they simply dont love their owns? well....
Or maybe, Phuong Vi because of her good look ?
Mau Marcelo for her distinc voice?
Jaclyn Victor doesnt really caught my eyes...but there is once on her performance, she wore very nice dress *wink*

well...well...Taylor Hicks harmonica performance was very entertaining...does anyone think he looks abit like George Clooney?

Peter pan song "tak bisakah" and the India version sang by Abhijeet was kinda fun..

Daniel the presenter is hilarious! lots of funny faces, crazy jokes, well...hope to see him sometimes soon...

It was Friday 23rd November 2007, Strangely, Me and Lisa was not nervous at all. We wonder, we felt confidence and surprisingly calm during the D-Day. "I am more nervous on our first photo shoot" said Lisa.

We went to the venue early at 3:00pm that day, we was pretty much laid back since we've already prepared half of the props and dresses from the day before. I briefed the staffs once again, we load bunch of our stuffs to the car, and off we go.

We reached at around 3:30pm at pure, and was amazed at the view at 35th floor of menara imperium. Cant believe that we'll be having the party at this very nice place. We're glad to comes up with a very unique concept for the catwalk, "a rotating 35th floor"

once arrived at the changing room, everybody was straight away busy with their job, ironing, models fitting, preparing the hair, lighting check, music check, catwalk practice, etc. The models later arrived, and after many errands later... I almost felt I'm going to faint seriously. Even some models arrived pretty late, oh well what do you expect?

At around 10:30pm Pure was packed with all the invitee, we came out and greeted our friends, people are getting impatient for the show and at last at around 11:00pm the show started. Our photographer busy catching the models running here and there. Our show was a huge success attended by more than 500 audiences, mostly customers, media friends and hosted by celebrities. Benten showcased twenty-four beautiful dresses and was presented by eight gorgeous models

The show ended at around 12:00 midnight and followed by DJ Milinka's performance and of course wearing Benten's coctail gown.

So, we are glad that everything went so well after all the hectic things, we also would like to thanks all friends and family that supported and believed on us for this show. what a night!!!!

This show is not the end, we're preparing for a private Christmas party this December. An exclusive party with dinner for invitations only.

Benten's first media publication at last... We are so excited and happy that the article was great!
One full page article with interview, thanks to Mr. Herry Barus. Four of Benten's great studio shoots was shown in the middle of the writing. the title matches our characteristic "Dewi keberuntungan" which means the goddess of luck

Benten will appear on fashion spread in Female november edition and is soo excited to have the photo session this friday (Sept 28th 2007)...the theme is 'ultra feminime' which suits well on Benten. The model is one of the top model in Jakarta; Sausan.

To top it over, Benten will also have another photo session for Chic's magazine on thursday (Sept 27th). it's for the beauty section for a wedding theme, for november edition as well...

Socialites Anyone?

Jakarta, Indonesia's New York, Hollywood, Bollywood, an exotic town filled with beautiful people and colorful personalities. Some people call it J-Town, a city that have a glittering and glamorous life yet have its slum corner in every block.

Parties in Jakarta are pretty much common and normally attended by the glitz and glam crème de la crème, Medias, they all swarmed in between the crowds and crave for fame and news (not really news i guess, its more like who's here and who's there).

I went to a famous Indonesian Designer show recently, and everybody was beautiful. The collection it self was amazing and beautiful the set, the choreographer, decoration was great; except for the songs mix was crappy. Around 50 to 80 collections were shown, bravo anyway.
There Benten was photographed as well in the red carpet; luckily Benten was encouraged by a so called Socialite partner. So I guess that's why they photographed Benten as well.

Everybody have their invitation on hand, the invitation was divided into Media, SVVIP (Super Very Very Important People), VVIP, VIP, and NVIP (Not Very Important People).
Benten and her friend got a VVIP invitation so we had fourth row from the catwalk, not bad yet so tragic how you are differentiates by an Invitation, I mean how they would judge whose SVVIP and who's NVIP?

But then when we entered the main hall, I started to notice that in every numbered seat there's a goody bag! Nice... I love goody bags; normally they contained magazines, vouchers, discount cards, blah blah blah and all that privileges. Anyway, after sitting comfortably I looked around and to my surprised there are different goody bags!

So, if you are a media, you got a white bag, a SVVIP you got a big red bag (from a retail dep. store as their sponsor), then going down to my class, I got a black bag, then to the last class you got an ugly blue bag with cell phone advertisement pictures in it.
Gosh, after the show was over, there were finger foods outside main hall, there you can kinda tell whose SVVIP and whose media and so on. Hahaha... I found this is amusing...

I guess it will all goes back to who you are really. I am amazed and happy for all those Socialites, the daughter of this and that or the son of Mr. and Mrs. X. They always look good and charming. Well, you basically get what you pay and what you do.

The thing is when you are no Socialite and then you are acting like one. It's sad..

There is this so called "Socialite" babe, you can spotted her in almost all Socialite's magazine, people asked, and “Who is she”?
Apparently, she is no one... how sad; she is just an ordinary babe living in an ordinary house with an ordinary family. But she did it and made it to the fame. Again, like i said, you get what you paid and you may get what you want. If you can fake it until you make it... Congratulations, you manage to carry your fake Gucci and LV Bags with pride and charm and voila, you are on the prestigious side....

It is best that you are being who you are just the way it is. You don't have to wear many branded items to look good, you can be creative and wear your existing dress or accessories with pride and smile. The self confidence in you brings out your beauty aura and believe it or not... people can feel it and see it.
There are many ways to gain fame and to have prestigious surroundings. You will find your true prestigious surroundings only in the true you inside out. Once you found that, it's priceless...

Lisa bumped to Nadya few weeks ago and it was such a fortune she told Lisa that she is now hosting a show in Trans TV. Nadya kindly reffered us to the Trans TV's wardrobe person in charge and they came to Benten today.

Trans TV liked our collection and they took nine dresses all together. We were so thrilled and glad that they are going to show Benten for the full week!

Benten in C-TV

It’s the day we all have been waiting for, we decided to sponsor for C-TV’s (a local TV channel covering Jakarta and Banten area) new program called “Fresh”. It’s a music chart kind of program where people can sms, call and request their top music chart. The show is on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:00am. Benten is going to be wear by the female presenter “Nia (AFI) and Adit (AFI)”, Vanite as the accessories and Sacha for shoes.


I set up my alarm at 07:00am and apparently I fell asleep until 07:30am!!! I jumped out of my
bed, woke my sister up and head to Benten straight. Luckily we reached C-TV on time. We were so excited, Nia tried on several Benten cocktail dresses and we all agreed she looked gorgeous. There were three episode taped; the first one was live show and we were requested to be their guest star during the second taped.


We were so excited, and felt amazingly relaxed. I guess the people and environment made us felt comfortable. On the show, Cecile wore Bobbie in Black with Vanite as the accessories, Lisa wore Cleo and Nia wore Simone in Dust Green. Adit was so happy with the beautiful babes around.

The interview went on very well, we joked around and everybody was laughing out loud. I can even see the producer and the cameraman was laughing behind the set, we can’t help not to look at the monitor in front of us, because you basically can see yourself on TV hihihi... It felt a ‘lil bit awkward, as this is our first time shoot taken inside a studio. A moment I could remembered when Adit asked Lisa and Cecille, “So, where does Benten attacked her market?” Lisa answered ingenuously, “Owww… we don’t attacked, we only sell and distribute” and everyone in studio burst out into laughing. We felt that this interview was rather relaxed compared to Jak-TV’s interview. We manage to speak fluent Indonesian at all time… haha, although many times we were giggling and looking at each other face to get a clue.

Babes with Confident

On one Wednesday morning I went to meet up with some babes in a Vietnamese restaurant in Muara Karang area. Dewi, Lisa, Cecile, Jenny, Henny and Melda (kha) was so excited about Dewi's ability to tell a fortune through deck card. We all decided to head on to my place and check out some clothing.

We all know how, when chicks meet right? Yes, loads of chit chat... About love life, about manners, boys and of course tips and trick on being beautiful.
Here I'm going to share up some tips for all the babes whom is Benten's friend.

On a Party:

- Pick your Benten dresses, wear it with pride and attitude and the most important confidence

- Standing tall and straight is a must, pull your shoulder back hold your chin up a little bit (not too much or else people thought you are pretty much amazed with the ceiling up there)

- Be different by wearing and trying colors on makeups and dresses

- When you entered a party, enter the door with smile, pause, check out the crowd for more than a minute, spot a crowd of friends, walk towards them and socialize

- It's Better that you come to a party with bunch of your hot babes, you will look stunning and charming when you came with other beautiful flowers



- Don't take any decorative things that doesn't belong to you (flowers, balloons, spoon, forks, fruits)





- If you spotted a friend who came with his/ her friends that you might not know yet, don't hesitate to smile at them and introduce yourself. Remember always start a conversation with a smile and be genuine, people can tell when you are genuine or not

- If you likes to eat, eat secretively don't act like you are a food terminator

- Watch your laugh, don't laugh too much or loud you will scared them

- Its the person whom wears that shines, not the expensive bling bling that shines. A friend of mine worn her mom's sling bag and it looked hot

- When a host is giving away a prize (butterfly diamond pendant, I pod, etc) don't bang, hit, push, kill, punch, step into other babes till they almost drop down to the floor. Behave, we might want it so bad but when it's yours, It'll go to you

- Being friendly doesn't mean that you have to know all the people in the room, you may stand or sit in your crowd as well as mingling to one crown and another

- Don't make face, don't pick your nose, burp and fart secretively

- Last but not least, be yourself

Benten's Ultimate Photo Session with Jerry Aurum

It took six months for us to prepare everything till the D-day came. FInally, the ultimate photo session we all had been waiting for. Thanks to all the contributors and all the crew whom had been putting effort for this photo session to happened.

On 5th and 6th June 2007, we all heading to Jerry Aurum's Studio located in Pondok Indah. Mba Intan, Jerry's Producer whom had been putting so much effort on gathering all the contributors: Jerry Aurum and his team Liliane, Intan, Soli, Fiona (Make Up Artist), Dorriane Amar (French Model from Bali) and Cara (Manager), Patricia (Vanite accessories), Lisa & Cecile (Stylist), Titin & Kus (users) Sony and his crew from Jak TV and last but not least all of the other crew whom had been there all day long.

Benten's extraordinary shoot was done in the studio using black background to enhanced the colours of the dresses. Twenty five dresses all together, evening and cocktail dresses worn by the beautiful Dorriane Amar. Posing elegantly and cheerfully in the studio. The next day the shoot continued for an underwater scene. Three dresses "Patricia, Simone and Passion" shoot beautifully by Jerry Aurum.

We were glad that we picked Dorriane in the first place, because of her capability posing underwater and holding her breath for a long time. We first saw Dorriane from "Femalography" book. The photo we saw was Dorriane's leg on the back cover of the book, and I asked Jerry how did he do it?. Jerry told me it was simply the model that can really hold her breath while hand-standing under the water, and I know it wasn't easy to be able to hold on your pose under water.

The shoot was done perfectly well, everybody was a helping hand and contributing very well. The team involved was interviewed by Jak TV: Jerry Aurum as the photographer; Fiona for Make-Up Artist; Patricia for Vanite; Dorriane as the Model and Me and Lisa as the owner of Benten, we are nervous but we answered all questions very well together.

At the end of the day, we all felt exhausted and excited, as the shoot was really good and the result...? The best.

We are now working on preparing more of Benten's collection and Benten's fashion show. Keep checking us out and discover more about what's going on in Benten.
